Conditioner Advertisement

This is an advertisement about hair conditioner. This advertisement is different from other similar productions. In our mind, this kind product often uses beautiful girls to be their model. This ad does not follow the rule, and the difference can make audiences impressed. There is the slogan besides the production “tames the wildest hair.” The picture matches the text very well. They use the wildest animal lion, and the “afro style” of lion is well-known. If the production can tame such disordered hair, we will think it is more than enough to work on our hair. This ad use highly exaggerated way to introduce the conditioner, and it is even a little bit dramatic, but it is still very impressive.

  1. I think this advertisement used appeal to logic. Even thouth your hair is as wild as lion's hair, this product still can make it very smooth.

  2. The designer of the ad wants to shock the audiences’ emotion by using a lion’s face instead a human face. It is funny but effective. The audiences will pay attention on the hire and print the image in their head and they may think about it and talk to others this interesting advertisement. The image of this funny picture will appear in to their heads when they want to buy wigs. The goal of attracting the audience is not only achieved through the emotion appeal, but also through the way of defamiliarization. It uses the lion’s of viewing natural hair to present assumptions that the hair they design is as natural as real hair because nobody dare to say no to a lion!

  4. I agree with Karen and Selina. The use of a lion shows both the appeal to logic and appeal to emotion. For logos, it draws an analogy between human's hair and a lion's hair. If the conditioner can make a lion's hair as smooth as it described, than people who use it can also get smooth hair. For appeal to emotion, the use of the lion's face definitely can draw people's attention.
